Training day program for some farmers in Accra organised by Hortifresh an ngo, Food Security Ghana and hosted by Green-Gro Ltd
Dr Ken Okwae Fening who is a Crop Research Scientist and Lecturer at College of Agriculture in University of Ghana Legon, an entomologist and the Chair of Food Security Ghana gave remarks on the need for Regulatory followed by Benefits of neem by Frederick Agyeman Duah, General Manager at Green-Gro Ltd. Fred educated on the 5 applications of neem of which Dr Ken Okwae Fening had already touched on two already in his remark.
Mike the field manager at Green-Gro Ltd took over and demonstrated how to use the neem oil, mix and apply.
U Tv covered both tours and interviewed Fred and Dr Ken separately on the essence of the training.
Ishmael took over after the tours on how the post harvest storage is done using neem leaves and oil separately. The leader of the Ashaiman vegetables association was more than happy to learn this as he gave examples of use of chemicals to preserve which makes it immediately unwholesome for consumption but sometimes orders come earlier and they regrettably sell the chemically preserved ones to consumers upon the request of the buyers.
